Biography

2015-Current: PhD in Chemical Engineering, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK
2011-2015: MEng in Medical Engineering, Swansea University, Swansea, UK

Ameya is a PhD student in the Microfluidic Biotech Group under Helen Bridle's supervision. The research in this group is focused on detection of protozoan species like Cryptosporidium and Giardia in drinking and environmental waters. Ameya did his undergraduate studies in Medical Engineering at Swansea University where he achieved an MEng in the discipline. During his Masters project, he became increasingly interested in Microfluidics and wished to continue work in the field. Outside university, Ameya likes sports, playing games and having a good conversation over coffee.
