2016-Current: PhD in Chemistry, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK
2011-2015: MSc in Pharmacy, University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands
2008-2011: BSc in Pharmacy, University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands
Boy is a PhD student in Stephen Yarwood's research group, which focuses on the cyclic AMP signalling pathway and in particular the role of exchange protein activated by cAMP (Epac). Boy previously studied pharmacy at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands), which gives him a broad background in both biology and chemistry. During his Master's research project he got his first experience in the field of cAMP signalling, when he did research on the role of the cAMP pathway in cigarette smoke induced alterations on inflammation and remodeling in human airways. His PhD will focus on the development of novel Epac inhibitors and determining their mechanisms of action.
