Biography
2013–2018: Postdoctoral Facility Manager for ESRIC, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK
2008-2012: PhD in Molecular membrane imaging, The University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK
2004-2007: BSc (Hons) in Molecular Medicine, SussexUniversity, Brighton, UK
After finishing my undergraduate degree in Brighton I decided to move to sunny Edinburgh to study for my PhD with Rory Duncan, for my PhD I investigated the mechanisms involved in vesicle fusion using microscopy techniques. After my PhD I started working for Rory as the manager for the Edinburgh Super-Resolution Imaging Consortium (ESRIC), which is based between Heriot-Watt and Edinburgh University. This was a logical transition as I have used a large range of microscope techniques during my PhD and I have enjoyed the managerial side of previous jobs I have had. My role is extremely varied which I really love and try and keep my hand in research when I have the time!
