By Car
The University is half a mile from the Calder Junction of the A720 City of Edinburgh by-pass and the A71, you will see signs or Heriot-Watt University on your approach.
Parking

By Bus
Lothian buses offers local bus services 25 (most frequent), 34 and 45, which take approximately 30-40 minutes from the city centre. A day ticket is priced at £3.50 and a single at £1.50. All national coach services to Edinburgh arrive at St Andrew’s Square bus station on the east end of Princes Street, timetables can be found at CityLink and National Express websites.
By Taxi

A taxi journey will cost approximately £30 from the city centre and will take 20-30 minutes. Outbound taxis can be ordered at the main reception on campus.
By Rail
There are two main railway stations suitable for travel to Heriot-Watt University. Edinburgh Waverley railway station is situated at the east end of Princes Street and Haymarket station at the west end. A number 34 or 25 bus can be taken just outside Waverley station and the 25 bus just around the corner from Haymarket station. Rail timetables can be found on National Rail.
By Air
Edinburgh International Airport is served by scheduled national and international flights. The airport is on the west side of the city and just 3 miles from the University. The taxi journey from the airport takes about 10 minutes and costs about £10 one way.
