Mario is a PhD student in Dr Euan Brown’s lab. Mario studied a BSc in Sport Sciences and a MSc in Physiology. Surprisingly, he is doing a PhD in Bioengineering, developing a microelectrode array to assess the electrical activity of pancreatic islets. Due to his passion about nutrition and exercise, Mario is trying to link his research in diabetes with exercise and nutrition. Outside of the university, he plays water polo and he likes any type of exercise, spend time with friends, travel and eat.
